Travels of a Geologist

From 1924 to 1927, John Gray Douglas worked as a subsurface geologist for Gulf Oil in Venezuela. The John G. Douglas Collection mostly consists of correspondence during his time as a geologist in the field. This correspondence is primarily from Venezuela and contains approximately 359 letters to his mother, father, and his wife, Violet Marshall Douglas.

The collection also contains this photograph album of a trip to England, Scotland, Wales, and France in 1932, which contains images of London before the "Blitz" bombings of WWII.
