Accountancy, School of (Patterson School of Accountancy)

The Patterson School of Accountancy at The University of Mississippi enjoys a rich heritage among the academic programs on this campus. Accounting courses have been offered since 1917 and the School of Accountancy was established in 1979. In 1999, the School was named in honor of alumnus E. H. “Pat” Patterson.

The University of Mississippi has been home to the ‘National Library of the Accounting Profession’ since 2001 when the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) moved their library from New York to our campus in Oxford, Mississippi. This library has attracted visitors from around the world and continues to be a source of great visibility for the University and School; much of it has been digitized and can be found in the Archival Digital Accounting Collection.
