Description
Each of the artists on the calendar explores the idea of what it means to cross borders. Cover artist Lee Harper traverses historical timelines and moments as she constructs dioramas about real historical figures using bones from her yard to tell their story. Lee’s work invites us to learn about the past and to confront the abject at the same time. She is joined by local photographer Megan Wolfe, who returned to Mississippi after eleven years in San Francisco. With a past life in professional fine art work, Wolfe finds her favorite stories highlight the pursuit of mastery through craft, concept, and challenging audience perception. Together, they kick off our fall calendar with a month long exhibit of their work at the Powerhouse Community Center in September.
Relational Format
