This collection of over 2,000 photographs of blues performers and locations were taken by Scott M. Bock (1956-2021) over two decades in the 1990s and 2000s. Many were featured in the 400 feature stories on musicians ranging from Millie Jackson and Lazy Lester to Robert Randolph and Gary Clark, Jr. He often interviewed artists in their homes and focused on men and women who might never have their history recorded despite a rich history in music.
His 5,000 piece record collection is now housed at the Miller Nichols Library at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. His blues and African artwork is located at the Sherrill Library at Lesley College in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
