Describes his visiting Mrs. Lamar with the cake his mother sent to her. Describes the great agitation in the area over the question of union. Talks about a new home going up in Oxford, which would become Ammadelle, and asks how the building of their new house is getting along. Asks to be remembered to all of his friends
