Description

Lehman Engel writes from Great Lakes, Illinois, to ask if Creekmore is in New Caledonia. He discusses experiences in World War II and imagines the ways that Creekmore’s experiences abroad must change him. In Illinois, Engel feels too far remote from the experiences of war. He describes writing musical compositions, which were reviewed in Poetry Magazine, for dancer Ruth Page. He states that he had concerts with Lily Pons, Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa, and [Paul?] Robeson. He will soon have concerts with Paul Draper, Larry Adler, Nathan Milstein, and Marian Claire. He discusses Stone Arts, Othello, and Parade Magazine. Includes envelope.
