Description

Cooke writes from New York City on Johns-Manville Sales Corporation letterhead to Creekmore in Jackson, Mississippi. He states that Creekmore's "The Chain in the Heart" is being sold at a low cost at his favorite book store. He recently had lunch with [David?] McDowell, during which they discussed [Mario Puzo's] "The Dark Arena" and [Maxwell?] Geismar's review in Saturday Review. Cooke states that David [McDowell] is moving to Rutherford, New Jersey, and he asks if Creekmore has looked at Dissent magazine, edited by Irving Howe and Meyer Schapiro. Includes envelope.
