Hubert writes from New York City to his mother in Jackson, Mississippi, regarding personal and professional matters. Hubert has no good news to report concerning work or housing. Hubert will continue to look in Greenwich Village because of its convient location. He had dinner with Dolly Wells and is looking forward to Eudora's arrival in New York. Hubert met with James Laughlin about work without success. He also turned down a job annotating for the American Bible Society.
