James L. Baughman, director of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, discusses the media and the presidential election of 1960, the first year that the presidential debates were televised. One of several "academic activities" held at the University of Mississippi preceding the first presidential debate of 2008.
