Abstract
My film is an intimate look at the work and friendships created through working on an organic family farm. The story reflects the solitude that farming can feel like, working alone in a team, and the many facets that it takes to feed a community. This cut of the film is based on the farm and the work will continue in the homes of my coworkers in Mexico.
A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Lilly Slaughter received a master’s degree in Southern Studies from the University of Mississippi in 2022. Their work focuses on the intersection between foodways and migration, stemming from her work on an organic farm outside of Louisville. Lilly’s film will focus on the relationships formed between coworkers in the United States and Mexico.
