Comments

The daguerreotypes in this collection, created by Elijah Fleming (UM 1859), depict the 19 members of the University of Mississippi class of 1859, Chancellor Barnard, and a faculty member. The identification of the subjects was provided by Dr. Franklin E. Moak, April 1969, who also gathered biographical information of most subjects. Five class members can be positively associated with their fraternal affiliations (Delta Psi and Phi Kappa Psi).
