Description

The Almeda Gardner Industrial School for Girls was an African American school located in Moorehead, Mississippi. The school opened in October 1892 and was connected to the American Missionary Association as well as the founder of the town, Chester H. Pond. These pictures were taken roughly between 1924- 1927. A few of the photographs of this collection recall the flood of 1927.
