Abstract

Laura Martin, Associate Director of the McLean Institute, Dr. Cade Smith, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Community Engagement, and Dr. John Green, Director of Center for Population Studies, join Dr. Anne Cafer to briefly discuss the basic language of community engagement, how do we differentiate between community engagement types. Questions include:

  1. What are the broad range of the types of CE activities faculties can engage in?
  2. What are the resources available on campus to help faculty engage in each of these types of engagement?
  3. From an administrative point of view what is the value of this work to the University? Why should faculty do this work considering the extra time commitment?
