Description

Typed description: 'Lynchburg, S.C. - Not only because he is Dean of the Senate, but because he is a colorful, outspoken Democrat not always in agreement with the new deal, does attention focus on Senator Ellison Durant (Cotton Ed) Smith of South Carolina. Proof that the Senator is proud of his cognomen is this shot showing him perched on a bag of some of the cotton he raises on his ancestral plantation which came to his family through a Royal Grant in 1747'
