Tamara Karakozova (tkarakoz@olemiss.edu) is an Instructor of Russian in the Department of Modern Languages. Karakozova is from Tbilisi, Georgia, but was born in Lugansk, Ukraine. Karakozova’s sister and her family fled Lugansk after a conflict of 2014 to Kharkiv, and then had to leave Kharkiv in March of 2022 because of severe bombing of Russian troops. They are still in Ukraine and this presentation is an attempt to tell their story, as well.
