Abstract
The following thesis combines topics learned throughout all the undergraduate studies with real world case studies in order to provide a personalized insight on accounting principles and guidelines set forth by the Financial Accounting Standards Board. The thesis displays many cases, each with their on focus on certain Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and how they apply to individual entities. By delving into each in order to discern what sector of guidelines applied and how, the cases were utilized in order to grasp a wide range of issues. The thesis displays understanding of current accounting topics, financial statement analysis and breakdown, and GAAP and how it is applied to statements. The case studies were completed under the Direction of Dr. Victoria Dickinson in fulfillment of the requirements for the University of Mississippi, Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College, and Patterson School of Accountancy ACCY 420 in 2018-2019 academic year.
