Abstract
This thesis represents a full financial analysis of Regions financial Corporation. The paper delves into the history of the company, including an analysis of mergers and acquisitions, and prior performance. Also, the strategic planning of the company is analyzed and explained, while examining all relevant Hnancial accounts. There is research into numerous types of accounts, including assets, financing, cash flows, receivables, inventory, property plant and equipment, investments, restructures, and pensions. By addressing these line items, ratios were constructed to analyze the recent performance of the company, and where they may have deficiencies. Through these analyses, tax, audit, and advisory recommendations were created. Regions Financial has suffered from a decrease in both interest income and market share, and is therefore open to a possible acquisition. Based on the current needs, several recommendations could help to abate these issues. For tax, they could invest in New Markets Tax Credits, while for audit, they could create more tests to test the provision for loan losses account. For advisory recommendations, Regions could increase market share by mergers and acquisitions, decrease branches in current states and use the 111 capital to invest in new markets, and increase the presence of digital banking and ATMs.
