Abstract

In this paper, I have translated the Ars Amatoria by Ovid. I have examined the cultural and political context and history of the Ars and its author, and I have researched translation theory, as well as examined criticisms ofthe poem. I have integrated these elements as best I can into my translation and the paper. I have also attempted to present the Ars in a way that is appealing and interesting to academic and non-academic readers alike.
