Description

A collection of recipients of the Stonewall Book Awards and the Schneider Family Book Award for children's and young adult literature. The Stonewall Book Awards, first granted in 1971, recognize "exceptional merit relating to the gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender experience." The Schneider Family Book Award, endowed in 2003, recognizes authors and illustrators for literature that "embodies an artistic expression of the disability experience for child and adolescent audiences." Both awards are sponsored by the American Library Association. The display features books that are available through the University of Mississippi J. D. Williams Library.
