All SLS participants receive a copy of the book, One Mississippi, written by Steve Azar and illustrated by speaker, Sarah Frances Hardy. In this keynote session, the illustration guide (in participants’ totebags) will be used to lead a discussion of how to use this children’s book to promote Mississippi’s new state song. Sarah Frances Hardy is a Mississippi native who calls Oxford home. She earned an art degree from Davidson College and studied at Parsons School of Design in New York and Paris. Hardy has exhibited her work in galleries throughout the Southeast as well as a gallery in SoHo, New York. Hardy’s published children’s picture books include Puzzled by Pink (Viking Children’s Books), Paint Me! (Sky Pony Press), and Dress Me! (Sky Pony Press).
