Abstract
Dr. Jaime Harker, Dr. Annette Trefzer, and Mary Stanton-Knight will all take part in a panel discussion about the life and work of author and Water Valley native, Hubert Creekmore, with a specific focus on the significance of his 1948 work The Welcome and its recent reissue by University Press of Mississippi.
- Dr. Annette Trefzer is a Professor of English at the University of Mississippi. Her book Exposing Mississippi: Eudora Welty's Photographic Reflections (U Press of Mississippi) won the 2022 Eudora Welty Prize.
- Dr. Jaime Harker is the director of the Sarah Isom Center for Women and Gender Studies, and a Professor of English. She opened the Violet Valley Bookstore in Water Valley, Miss. in 2017.
- Mary Stanton Knight is a Communications Specialist for University Development. Her MFA thesis on Hubert Creekmore is available here.
