Lott takes calls from Mississippi reporters (Brett Austin of WLOX-TV, Mel Carlock of WTVA-TV, Stacy Case of WXVT-TV, Kip Smith of WJTV-TV, and Drew Hadfield of WAPT-TV). Topics discussed include: congressional action on political crisis in Haiti; lack of popular and political support for a U.S. military invasion of Haiti; national security; the nomination of Mississippian Ray Mabus as ambassador to Saudia Arabia; enterprise zones in Mississippi; possible military base closures; defense spending; and the NCAA investigation of the University of Mississippi.
