CSPAN's Congressional Leaders call-in program hosted by Carrie Collins in which both Minority Whip Trent Lott and Majority Whip Thomas Foley appear. Topics discussed include: defense spending, the budget for 1987, the House agenda, unemployment, tax reform, Nicaragua and cross border incidents with Honduras, Libya and terrorism, vote on Contra aid package in the House, federal funding to city and local governments for sanitary systems.
Followed by PBS's Capital Journal in which Minority Whip Trent Lott appears. Topics discussed include: US raid on Libya, military aid to the Contras postponed for a month, attempt of Democrats to include aid to Contras in appropriations bill President Reagan had promised to veto, and Nicaragua.
