Various news programs and television programs. Beginning with several "Newswatch" episodes from WLOX Channel 13. Topics discussed include: disruption of power to nuclear plant in Grand Gulf, Space Shuttle Challenger investigation, NAACP asks Hancock County Hospital to appoint African Americans to its board, economic development in Mississippi and how to attract industry to the state, employment, housing market and the rise of foreclosures, meeting between US and Russian leaders, bomb explosion in Thailand, Egyptian student arrested after making bomb threat on a plane, National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC featuring Mississippi Blossom Ms. Pamela Stennis, sports, preparing your garden for the winter, weather, and pet of the week for adoption. Followed by "ABC World News Tonight" hosted by Peter Jennings. Topics discussed include: Disco bombing in Libya. Followed by more "Newswatch" on Channel 13.
