Description

Thirty-minute segment of MSNBC news coverage beginning with the "Donahue Show" hosted by Phil Donahue. Senator John Kyl is interviewed. Topics discussed include: the Patroit Act, the war on terror, and homeland security. Followed by a brief review of the current headlines, including: U.S. intelligence failure; Saddam Hussein trying to rally Arab states; and Ohio Congressman James Traficant on trial for ethics violations. Followed by "Hardball" hosted by Chris Matthews. Senate Minority Leader Trent Lott is interviewed. Topics discussed include: President Bush's plan for homeland security; citizens informants; the Patroit Act; corporate cronyism in the Bush White House; and a possible U.S. led war for a regime change in Iraq. Senator Joe Biden is interviewed. Topics discussed include: Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearings on possible war with Iraq; possibility that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction; and reasons why the Bush White House is pushing for war with Iraq and Saddam Hussein.
