Description
Join us for a 1-hour presentation featuring the University of Mississippi's Digital Initiatives Librarian and Applications Analyst as they delve into the process of automating the collection of open access (OA) faculty publications. This session will focus on the integration of platforms like Scopus and PubMed to identify and import OA publications into the institutional repository, eGrove.
The Digital Initiatives Librarian will demonstrate how to leverage eGrove's built-in Scopus API to efficiently add these publications. Meanwhile, the Applications Analyst will present the Python-based scraping code she developed to automate the collection process from external databases.
Additionally, the presenters will discuss the importance of having OA publications in institutional repositories, highlighting the increased visibility, usage, and impact of faculty research.
