Description
Driven by our passion for creating new music for the saxophone and sharing our love of chamber music with the next generation, the Assembly Quartet has embarked on a long-term, large-scale commissioning, concertizing, recording, and publication project of new works for SATB and AATB saxophone quartet that are artistically fulfilling and playable by driven high school and early collegiate level musicians. This repertoire initiative is called The Pedagogy Project. Dr. Adam Estes, founding member of the Assembly Quartet and Associate Professor of Music at The University of Mississippi, along with Shades of Blue Quartet, which include four UM students in the saxophone studio, will present The Pedagogy Project to attendees. This presentation will include performances of selected repertoire from this project.
