Abstract

In this interview, Holloway shares his experiences moving from Los Angeles, California to Oxford, Mississippi. A Biology graduate student at the University of Mississippi, Holloway details how learning about the history and culture of Mississippi reshaped his view of the south. As a student, he used his passion for racial justice to start a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion group for Biology grad students. In addition, Jalen speaks also discusses what living in Mississippi as a Black Gay person has meant to him.
