The DEI Committee is excited to present the concept for our AI generated artwork that depicts ourdiversity, equity, and inclusion in the School of Applied Sciences.
While many interpretations can be drawn from this piece, the circle symbolizes wholeness and being connected and the colors represent our unique and varying differences. Outside of the circle, we see individuals moving about, giving context to the need for continuity. Lastly, the light shining through is the pinnacle of this piece. According to a recent editorial entitled “The Symbolism of Light” by Give Me History Editors, light symbolizes a higher purpose, guidance, life, positivity, celebration and intellectual knowledge.
The work that encompasses diversity, equity, and inclusion is a continual work that must be present in everything we do. The work must play out in all spaces among all people and we must never lose sight that the work is necessary and attainable.
