Abstract

How are Latinos incorporated into social, political and economic life in communities that were nontraditional destinations of migration? And how do they navigate the South's historic black/white, racial binary? Data collection and fieldwork since 2016 both in Mississippi and in Memphis reveal emerging themes of how people are identifying racially, ethnically and how that impacts their everyday lives.
