Abstract

Immigration is one of the most controversial and talked about topics worldwide but it is always seen from the outside views. High school senior Areesha Razi shows us the internal perspective of what is really like to be an ”immigrant's daughter.” Areesha Razi is a high school senior at Ocean Springs High School. She is apart of the Ocean Springs Wind Symphony as Principal Horn and has performed at the American Band Master Association and the College Band Directors National Association. Although Areesha has spent the majority of her life in the United States, she spent the first three years of her life in Karachi, Pakistan. She is graduating with High Honors and will be attending the University of Florida this upcoming fall and majoring in Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience for her goal to become a physician and specialize in surgery. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
