175th Anniversary Celebration

On November 6, 2023, the University of Mississippi celebrated 175 years as Mississippi’s flagship university by commemorating the day in 1848 when it welcomed its first class of 80 students. The occasion was marked by a celebration held at 1 p.m. on the front steps of the Lyceum with remarks and a reception. During the 2023-2024 academic year, the University’s Marketing and Communications office produced videos, articles, and other materials to promote the anniversary. They appear in this collection alongside the remarks and speeches delivered at the Nov. 6 anniversary event.
