Abstract
UNIVERSITY, Miss. - Former Governor William Winter Saturday used the occasion of the University of Mississippi's 150th commencement to renew a call to heal the "fault lines of race and class" that still divide the nation. In his remarks to 1,692 graduates and thousands more parents and friends delivered under cloudy skies in the historic campus Grove, Winter said the most important public office is that of citizen.
