Abstract
EDITOR/NEWS DIRECTOR: Medgar Wiley Evers' contributions to Mississippi and the nation continue, even as the 40th anniversary of his assassination June 12, 1963, approaches. The Medgar Evers Institute and the University of Mississippi's Winter Institute for Racial Reconciliation invite you to consider your own coverage and/or reporting of events planned to honor Evers' legacy and talk about The State of Race in America during a "National Week of Remembrance" June 10-16 from his birthplace in Newton County, Mississippi, to his gravesite in Arlington National Cemetery.
