Abstract

OXFORD, Miss. - University of Mississippi alumnus Dr. James E. Darnell Jr. is one of eight scientists and engineers to receive a National Medal of Science for 2002. The award, which is the highest national honor for a scientific researcher, was conferred by President Bush Thursday (Nov. 6) at a White House ceremony.
