Abstract
The stock market has tumbled and millions of Americans are unsure of their treatment options after the announcement that Merck & Co. is withdrawing Vioxx, its blockbuster arthritis drug, from the market. The decision came after a study showed the popular medication increased the risk of heart attack and stroke for certain patients.
