Abstract
OXFORD, Miss. - When Kaumudi Atapattu graduates summa cum laude Saturday at the University of Mississippi, the School of Engineering bids farewell to a national scholarship winner, a student leader and an accomplished researcher. But it's easier to see Atapattu leave Ole Miss for the University of California at Berkeley than it was for her professors to fear her loss a few months ago, when the civil engineering major went home to Colombo, Sri Lanka, for the holidays.
