Abstract
OXFORD, Miss. - The 2004-05 academic year has been a benchmark for University of Mississippi history professor John Neff. Neff's book, "Honoring the Civil War Dead: Commemoration and the Problem of Reconciliation," was published in March by the University Press of Kansas; earlier this year, he was granted tenured professor status, along with a promotion; and he has been named the top teacher in the College of Liberal Arts.
