OXFORD, Miss. -- One of the University of Mississippi's most beloved professors has further assured his special place in the institution's history through a bequest. Charles E. Noyes, professor and administrator emeritus - who has donated more than $250,000 to the university and holds the distinction of having given more single gifts than any other individual - recently advised UM officials that he has designated part of his estate to benefit the university.
