Abstract

Mark Baker (left), resident director of the University of Mississippi Field Station, tells Oxford Cub Scout Brandon Curry and his mother, Telisa Curry, how American Indians used an extract from willow trees as a painkiller. Brandon is a member of the Wolf Den of Pack 146, which toured the field station recently to learn about water quality and wildlife research under way at the facility as part of the requirements for their wildlife conservation belt loop.
