Abstract

UNIVERSITY, Miss. -- When The University of Mississippi opened its doors to 80 students on Nov. 6, 1848, those doors belonged to the Lyceum, the first of five buildings comprising the original Oxford campus. Completed in 1848, the Lyceum is the only survivor of those buildings.
