Abstract

UNIVERSITY, Miss. -- For kids, Halloween is a night of adventure, make-believe and maybe a little mischief-making. For many parents, it's a pain in the neck -- and we're not talking about a vampire's bite. There are the plastic costumes and masks that don't fit right, pitch-dark streets, late October chill, sugar-buzzed trick-or-treaters and older teens often looking for trouble.
