Abstract
Note: Faculty-Authored Op-Eds is a University News Service feature on vital issues of today. Dr. Charles Alexander is a professor of mathematics at The University of Mississippi and the principal investigator of the Delta Rural Systemic Initiative. Dr. Alfred Hall is an assistant professor of curriculum and instruction and the project director of DRSI.
