Abstract

UNIVERSITY, Miss. -- Some of America's most prominent scholars and critics gather at The University of Mississippi July 23-28 to begin a new century of scholarship on William Faulkner -- one of the world's most enduring literary figures. "Faulkner in the 21st Century," the theme of the 27th annual Faulkner and Yoknapatawpha Conference on the Ole Miss-Oxford campus, addresses Faulkner in relation to race, Native Americans, Creole poetics, the future and the Nobel Prize-winning author's influence beyond his native South.
