Abstract

UNIVERSITY, Miss. -- It may be no surprise that autumn is the busiest time of year at many campgrounds nationwide. That breezy break between summer heat and winter chill is a time of reflection and transition for millions of Americans. Falling at the tail-end of the dog days of summer and midway in the political back-biting season, it's also a time of onslaught of sorts, when politics pops up everywhere, beside roadways, on neighbors' lawns, in store windows, across news pages and over the air.
