Abstract
UNIVERSITY, Miss. -- Whenever Peng Lee spies a fire ant mound, he dreams of someday being able to walk over and simply tell the invading pests to get out of town. Lee realizes that might be a bit far-fetched, but his work with fire ants is yielding some fascinating insights about how these troublesome insects respond to sounds and could lead to an effective eradication program.
