Abstract

UNIVERSITY, Miss. -- In this era of global business, travel and communications, the opportunities for people who speak English and at least one additional language are expanding dramatically. From tourists to corporate executives, Americans of all ages and lifestyles are finding multiple advantages in being multilingual, and many are learning their second and third languages right at home.
