Abstract
UNIVERSITY, Miss. -- The students always arrive on time, pay close attention and eagerly contribute to discussions during an evening class taught by University of Mississippi faculty members Mairéad Byrne and Gabriel Gudding. The 17 pupils sit in a large circle and wear identical uniforms -- horizontally striped black-and-white pants and shirts with the words "Marshall County Correctional Facility" stenciled on the backs.
