About This Journal
The University of Mississippi Undergraduate Research Journal (UMURJ) serves to showcase the academic accomplishments of students in all disciplines at the University. With this Institution being classified as a Carnegie R1: Doctoral University, research continues to be an integral part of the academic culture within the University. UMURJ was founded to further foster this environment for undergraduate students and to allow students to experience the research process firsthand, from the development of an idea to publication.
UMURJ was created in 2015 by Whitney Greer to provide an outlet for undergraduate researchers to publish their work. The Associated Student Body recognized the importance of the Journal and fully sponsored the Journal for its first two years of publication. Today, UMURJ is a registered student organization and continues to highlight undergraduate researchers at the University of Mississippi.
