Telegrams to Government Officials
In August and September 1962, telegrams were sent to various government officials at both the federal and state level including: President John F. Kennedy, Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, Senators Mike Mansfield and Everett Dirksen, Representatives John W. McCormack and Charles Halleck; Mississippi Governor Ross Barnett, (then) Lt. Governor Paul B. Johnson, Jr., Secretary of State Heber Ladner; Alabama Governor John Patterson, among others.
